Sky will next week launch a new channel dedicated to concepts and formats covering just about everything relating to property. This is the first of its kind in the UK and will be on channel 238 at 8am on Monday morning.
The first phase of broadcasting will convey content which falls clearly into the entertainment genre, including UK programmes such as Mad About The House and Dream Homes, they will also broadcast some original programming which has not yet been revealed. The channel has taken two years to make with founder Michael Hammond and co-director Nicky Davis using a mix of industry and non-industry figures and shows.
They say it expects to create many original entertainment programmes of its own as well as “inform and educate through new programme concepts.”
Nicky Davis has been involved in the launch of several TV channels throughout Europe over the last twenty years and thinks that this channel ‘property TV’ will “meet a recognised gap in the market for a channel focused on what is our most valuable asset – our homes.”
